AIMS AND OBJECTIVES/PHILOSOPHY OF THE HOME:
Our aim is to offer residents the opportunity to enhance their quality
of life by providing a safe, manageable and comfortable environment.

ACCOMMODATION AND SERVICE PROVISION
Rosedene is registered for 67 beds in single and double rooms. All rooms
have wash hand basins and are fully furnished. Some rooms have en-suite
facilities. There are 4 lounges, a dining room and large activities
room. Wheelchair access to bedrooms and lifts, of which there are two.
Qualified registered first and second level nurses are on duty
24 hours a day. Care Assistants, cooks, hairdresser, gardener, maintenance
person, activities organiser and housekeeper are also employed. Care
Assistants have in-house training and further training to NVQ standard.
Rosedene has a visiting medical officer who holds
a surgery every Tuesday. If he is off duty one of his associates will
provide cover. This affords us 24 hours continuity of medical cover.
We have an excellent relationship with our pharmacist who dispenses
and delivers all of our drugs. Our dentists and chiropodists will visit
the home whenever necessary. All procedures such as injections, dressings,
suturing and Domiciliary X-rays are performed on the premises.
Rosedene caters for many groups with ethnic and spiritual requirements
and also terminal and hospice care, liaising with local hospitals for
treatments. We have links with Black community centres, Asian community
centres, churches and chapels of all denominations and local Brownies
and Guides.
We also have health and social links with the pathfinder Mental Health
Team, the Jubilee unit at Springfield Hospital, The Maudsley Hospital
and Bethlem Royal Hospital.
Clients will not be expected to change doctors for the convenience of
the Nursing Home. However, it must be recognised that the doctors work
within a geographical area and a move into Nursing Home Care may necessitate
a change of doctors for a Client. Where this occurs the Client will
be encouraged to select a new local doctor.
Care is afforded to Clients who are Adult or Elderly frail or with a
diagnosis of Mental Health illness - to include:

Rosedene has a very clear and concise care plan system which covers several
aspects of care. This is compiled during the first two weeks of assessments
and updated every six months (or more frequently if there is any dramatic
change in the Resident).
We have a well structured day centre. Residents may participate in Mental
and Physical stimulation e.g. Board games, Bingo, Dominoes, Sewing, Collage,
Painting, Pottery, Cookery and Reminiscence therapy. Periodic Concerts
are arranged when groups or individual performers visit to entertain the
Residents with singing and music.
All meals are home cooked and a menu is available on request. Personal
likes and dislikes are always taken into account.
Personal items of laundry can be washed in-house but it is preferred
if relatives make alternative arrangements if possible. No responsibility
is taken by Rosedene for any damage incurred during washing of Clients
personal clothing.
Residents are permitted to bring small items of furniture and belongings
with them. These will be covered by normal household insurance, but as
regards to jewellery or more valuable items, a separate policy must be
taken out.
It is a Policy of Rosedene not to keep pets in the home for reasons of
hygiene, but under exceptional circumstances this rule may be relaxed.
